The report concerns the issue of racial profiling in Germany, namely those who supposedly “do not look like Germans” and are controlled by the Federal Police more often than the rest of the population. This so-called “racial profiling” violates human rights. Amnesty calls for the abolition of all laws allowing discriminatory controls, especially the abolition of Section 22 (1a) of the Federal Police Law. It allows the Federal Police to control people without specific cause and suspicion “to prevent unauthorized entry”.
