Report by Statistics Netherlands on police appreciation in the public. Report finds that appreciation of the police in the general public is improving.  However, women are more positive about police performance than men, older people more than younger people. Non-western migrants are relatively positive about availability and visibility of the police in general but more negative about their concrete experiences with police. Furthermore, it is concluded that how the public judges the police are more dependent on concrete contact than on background characteristics.
